What film changes on your daily drive through a Kansas summer.

Cooler Cabin

Quality film cuts the heat coming through your glass, so your car cools down faster in the summer.

Less Glare

Easier on your eyes with low sun and headlights.

More Privacy

Harder to see in, so what you leave in the car stays out of sight.

Know Your Film

Understanding Window Tint

A little knowledge goes a long way. Here are the terms that matter most when you pick your tint.

What the Percent Means

The number is how much light gets through. A lower number means a darker tint.

Darker Is Not Always Cooler

Heat rejection comes from the film itself, not just the shade. A lighter, high quality film can keep you cooler than a dark, basic one.

Know the Law

Kansas sets limits on how dark each window can be. We will help you pick a shade that fits.

Let It Cure

Keep the windows up for a few days after install so the film can set properly.

Setting It Straight

Window Tint Myths, Busted

A lot of what people believe about tint is out of date. Here is the reality on the three we hear most.

01

Myth: Tint Is Only About Looks

Reality. The right film blocks 99% of UV, rejects real heat, and cuts glare, so it protects your skin and interior every drive.

02

Myth: All Tint Is the Same

Reality. Cheap dyed film fades purple and bubbles. Carbon and ceramic films hold their color and reject far more heat.

03

Myth: Tint Ruins Visibility at Night

Reality. A legal shade installed by a pro keeps night visibility clear and actually reduces blinding headlight glare.

Auto Tint Questions

What Overland Park drivers ask us most about window tint.

What window tint films do you install?

We install AutoBahn window film in four levels, from AutoBahn Black up to AutoBahn Ceramic i3+. Every level carries a lifetime warranty. The higher levels block more heat, so we will help you pick the one that fits how you drive and what you want to spend.

Where is Cornerstone Tint & Paint Protection located?

We are at 6420 W 110th St #100 in Overland Park, KS, and we also serve drivers from Olathe, Lenexa, Leawood and Mission Hills.

How dark can I tint my windows in Kansas?

Kansas uses one number all the way around: every side window and the back glass must let at least 35% of light through, and SUVs and trucks get no separate allowance. Tint on the windshield is allowed above the AS-1 line if it is not reflective. Red, amber and yellow film is not allowed, nothing may look mirrored, and Kansas does not grant medical exemptions.

What services do you offer?

Auto window tint, paint protection film, ceramic coating, and home and office window film including frost privacy film and custom logo decorative film.

What are the window tint laws in Missouri?

Missouri only limits the front side windows, which must let in more than 35% of light, with a 3% tolerance. Every window behind the driver can be any darkness, on a car, SUV or van. Film cannot be more than 35% reflective, and you need dual side mirrors if the back glass is tinted. Missouri does allow medical exemptions. If you drive across the state line every day, we can walk you through what is legal on both sides.

Do I have to wait at the shop while my car is worked on?

No. We offer a complimentary Uber ride, so you can drop off your car and get on with your day.

Does darker tint keep my car cooler?

Not on its own. How much heat a film blocks comes from what it is made of, not just how dark it is. A lighter ceramic film can keep your cabin cooler than a dark basic one, which is why we ask how you want it to look and how much heat you want to cut before recommending a shade.

How long should I keep my windows up after tinting?

Keep them rolled up for a few days so the film can finish setting. A little haze or a few small water spots under the film right after install is normal, and it clears up on its own as the film dries.

Do you tint homes and offices too?

Yes. We install window film for homes and businesses, including heat and glare control, frost privacy film and custom logo decorative film.
